McKinney Rogers non-execuive director Sir Robert Fry is interviewed by Andrew Baxter in today's Financial Times, concerning the changing role of the non-executive director.
Sir Robert comments on the importance of properly preparing for the role:
"I really don't know how many companies formally run an induction process for the Neds, but if they don't, they should. There are two reasons for this: first, to ensure nobody labours under any misapprehensions about their statutory responsibilities and second you need to know enough about the company to place your comments in a context which is going to have some value."
